Frame building tools, filet brazing examples on exhibition at The Rapha Archive Store

The South West of England is something of an enclave for the cycle industry. The hilly terrain, abundant woodlands and quiet country lanes lend themselves to a variety of cycling disciplines. Perhaps it is for this reason that Bristol and the surrounding areas host a surprisingly high density of cycling brands and organisations. Shepton Mallet is home to The Rapha Archive, an outlet store that serves as an ideal detour for cyclists travelling through the area. In partnership with The Rapha Archive we have recently hosted a series of open evenings for members of the Rapha Cycle Club. These evenings presented the opportunity for members to come and see inside our workshop, talk about bicycle frame building and try some brazing. Following these events we were asked to curate a small exhibition about The Bicycle Academy for display at the store. An important part of our mission at TBA is to help people get involved in frame building and whenever possible we like to provide an engaging insight into the world of frame building.

The exhibit includes a selection of frame building materials and tools alongside a student bicycle that was built during the 7 Day Frame Building course. The exhibition will run throughout December and January. The Rapha Archive store has secure bike storage and is a perfect riding destination for those based in the south west.
